Caulfield Cup, Melbourne Cup, Ladies Oaks Day - It's racing season! And on the racing track, the following trends have been pipped to be a winner this Spring:

(1) Monochrome - black & white; two of the key neutrals which make for a classic ensemble. Mix graphics and textures to keep things interesting and it would be wise to stay off the red wine if this is your preferred option.

(2) Floral - yes, Spring has sprung and with it, garments in all kinds of floral varieties. Choose one of the colours from your cocktail dress and accessorise your shoes and clutch with this statement colour.

(3) Peplum - placed over a tulip bell skirt, this shape is destined to be a favourite this racing season.

This is the season where milliners make their fortune, capitalising on fascinator sales. Bows, feathers, tulle and ribbon all placed elegantly off-centre on top of a lady's head. Choose a pair of stillettos with an appropriate heel height or opt for a wedge sandal to navigate the grass trackside; and then you're all set to go!

Giddy up horsie!
