I recently travelled down to the Hunter Valley, NSW for the first time to witness first-hand some of Australia's local products. Not only the wine, but of course, the cheese and chocolate; so a combination of three of my favourite foods and beverages provided me with more than I could indulge in!
But there's also something strikingly appealing in driving past rows upon rows of meticulously planted vines, all lined up perfectly upon the hills and plains. The Hunter Valley region is best known for its Semillon and the majority of the winemakers only produce for the domestic market given the size of their operations.
Given it is now daylight savings in the Southern states, I had to become accustomed to sunset occurring closer to 8.00pm. Dusk is my favourite time of day and I'm still chasing that perfect moment captured in the glow of a glorious sunset.
Nevertheless, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face as I ran amok the grapevines.
