Sometimes the most beautiful and serene locations are right in our backyard; we just need somebody to point them out to us. I didn't take my hiking shoes with me in this instance but I got back in touch with nature with a visit to Amamoor State Forest and Forest Reserve, inland from the Sunshine Coast and 20km south-west of Gympie.
A creek bed with boulders, rocks and pebbles, fallen logs and surrounded by the tallest of trees that the light only just peeks through, I thought I had found the perfect place to meditate.
Hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city life, it's one of those places that you want to keep secret to escape to whenever you need to hide just to catch your breath.
