POSTCARDS FROM AFRICA
I'm back from a whirlwind month in Africa! And don't worry - I was travelling to East Africa which is (currently) safe and far away from the Ebola stricken countries on the West side of the continent and Australian customs and immigration let me back into the country safe and sound.
I travelled to Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda with key highlights including: meeting my sponsor child and having the opportunity to visit his home and meet his family; climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with my father and summiting on Christmas Day; walking through Africa's second biggest slum, Kibera in Nairobi; trekking the hills of Rwanda to come face-to-face with the mountain gorillas and sipping cocktails next to the bluest waters on the island of Zanzibar.
For the most part, African hospitality is warm and generous with tourism playing an important role for each country's economy. I feel like I've only barely scraped the surface and hope that I can visit again one day.
Enjoy a selection of photos from my travels - Asante sana!
